Creating medical devices & therapies through biological & chemical engineering

We seek to combine biological and chemical engineering to develop new medical devices and therapies. One particularly important problem is the quest to deliver drugs inside of specific cell targets in vivo. There are many macromolecular drugs, such as DNA, RNA and some proteins, with great therapeutic potential that will function only when inside of a cell.

Applying engineering to make and optimize therapies and tools

We explore targeted delivery systems for nucleic acid therapeutics, biocompatible materials for islet transplantation, glucose-responsive drug delivery systems & sensors, genome editing, and biomaterials for stem cells.

And we are always looking for new questions to tackle.
